SUMMER TERM 2018
THE HANDLING OF DREAMS IN PSYCHOANALYSIS
The publication of ‘The Interpretation of Dreams’ is often identified as a founding moment of psychoanalysis. But how have analysts since Freud developed his theory of dreams? And what function do dreams have in the practice of psychoanalysis? When an analysand brings a dream, is an interpretation always called for, and if not, what place does the articulation of the dream have in the particularity of a case? These seminars will explore the above questions with a focus on clinical material.
