If you go into analysis, you’ll probably expect an interpretation at some point. The analyst can’t just sit there in silence forever! But what are we really expecting here? An explanation, a clarification, a question, a confrontation, a shift in perspective? CFAR’s conference will explore these themes, bringing out what is distinctive about the Lacanian approach to interpretation and contrasting this with other traditions.
