Affiliate Membership

Clinical Affiliate

The process leading to Clinical Affiliate Membership involves 3 stages:

  • An application to be placed on the track leading to Clinical Affiliate Membership.

There will be an interview at which the candidate’s previous psychoanalytic training, their clinical experience, their interest in Lacanian psychoanalysis and their relation to CFAR will be addressed as well as any other relevant questions.

  • If the candidate has been accepted on the Clinical Affiliate Track, s/he will follow CFAR’s seminar programme, including clinical seminars, for a minimum period of one year.
  • The candidate may then apply for Clinical Affiliate Membership.

There will be an interview to assess if Clinical Affiliate Membership is a suitable position for the candidate to obtain within CFAR.

Non-Clinical Affiliate

The process leading to Non-Clinical Affiliate Membership involves 3 stages:

  • Application to be placed on the track leading to Non-Clinical Affiliate membership.

There will be an interview at which the candidate’s training/education/experience, their interest in Lacanian psychoanalysis and their relation to CFAR will be addressed as well as any other relevant questions.

  • If the candidate has been accepted on the Non-Clinical Affiliate Track, s/he will follow CFAR’s Psychoanalytic Study Programme for a minimum period of one year.
  • The candidate may then apply for Non-Clinical Affiliate Membership.

There will be an interview to assess if Non-Clinical Affiliate Membership is a suitable position for the candidate to obtain within CFAR.

Registration on either Affiliate Track does not guarantee Affiliate Membership of CFAR, which is always subject to assessment at the time of application.
