Can psychoanalysis tell us anything new about love? Analytic work shows that we
can be in love without knowing it, and there is even a special kind of love that is
fostered by the psychoanalytic relation itself, that Freud called transference love. This
conference will explore psychoanalytic conceptions of love both within and beyond
the clinic, moving from how love operates in relationships to the question of divine
love.
